Indie studios often stay afloat by working as freelancers for other companies like programmers helping with larger corporation's systems to earn a bit of money, the writers often off to work with other groups and that sort of thing. Some of the delay can be attributed to the studio expanding, and getting 2 more games in development. (Which gets into other things that i won't be getting into details on.)

Such things did partially include an allusion to 1.4.2 being the last non event or bugfix(letter extensions) update before 1.5.0's release - though its worth noting there was a staff change after that had been stated. Some things though have occured and been said behind the scenes that make things a bit more complicated than what your casual observer would be able to pick up on. Only point I've got to add is while they've been quiet about what its going to contain and when, the devs have continued to state they intend to update the game. Meanwhile we can still enjoy the game how it is now.Īside from the fact the "ever increasing gap" has only really been there for the gap between 1.3.0 and 1.4.0, and since 1.4.0 to the alluded 1.5.0, you've got some solid points. Maybe we will get a new game with as much surprise and fun as this one. Finding a decent new game nowadays that isn't a copy and paste of other games or franchises is becoming harder as developers stick to being safe rather than being adventurous. For me it has a new and different game style, and that may be the reason why I personally would love a new update. I love this game and the enjoyment it has brought. (While some might argue that the pandemic has effected the update process, this is not relevant as prior to the pandemic all points are still valid and business has mainly resumed since then.) So the longer it goes the even less likely it will be. If less people are staying with the game due to the lack of updates then it will make less business sense to make a new update. And it has been way too long to reasonably expect another update.ģ - the business stance of doing an update is making less and less sense the longer it has been left undone. Doing this prevents any further discussion with the devs as they intend to do know more updates and talking about the matter would be pointless.Ģ - the time scale between updates has been increasing, until we reached this inevitable gap of seemingly infinite space. It has happened before with lots of games and slime rancher is no different. So as many know there has not been a big game content update for a while now and people constantly ask when the next one might be. Before I get hate and downvotes, all this is my own opinion.
